Re-installing base game problem
« on: May 27, 2014, 11:09:09 PM »
Hello,
I was happily using Sims 3 on Windows 8 since last year. Sadly, the game stopped working for me this January, but with my busy college schedule, I didn't even mind. Now, I want to play it again! So I tried everything... troubleshooting compatibility, bypassing the launcher, re-installing the game and Origin.. Then, I found out that Bitdefender Internet Security has problems with the game. So, I researched that and got the TS3.exe to be excluded from Bitdefender scans. I thought everything would work, but I clicked on the game only to have the error message "please re-install base game" pop up.
A couple more things:
-I didn't back up my game, because I was okay with starting over (I wasn't very far into it)
-I re-installed origin after I re-installed Sims (might be a problem)
-When I click on origin, it won't open still
So, it's all very complicated as you can see. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
