Ghosts in the Machine - Graveyard
« on: January 03, 2015, 04:10:15 PM »
On account of the fact that I believe I really do have ghosts in my laptop and desktop who do things to them to stop Sims 3 working properly, I've decided to do a ghost-based Domination Dynasty in which my King and Queen, and all of their children, are ghosts.

Our King is Poly Gon. He died of a mummy's curse. His backstory is that he was a genie in his life who went to Egypt to go toe to toe with mummies. He came off second best and has been in the netherworld ever since.
His traits are Family Orientated, Nurturing, Artistic, Virtuoso and Born Salesman. He wants to be surrounded by family.

Our Queen is Ingodwaasoc Gon. All the cool ghosts call her Ingo, and you're welcome to do so as well if you like. She died from being transmuted into gold. Her backstory is that she was previously a witch who had a thing for gold. She loved changing things into gold. Sadly, one of her transformations went wrong and she was changed into gold. Grim came for her, took her and she has been in the Netherworld ever since.
Her traits are Family Orientated, Nurturing, Artistic, Virtuoso and Born Saleswoman. She too wants to be surrounded by family.

The former genie and witch saw each other floating past several times and when notes were placed around the netherworld for a trip back to the world of the living as ghosts, both decided to apply. They completed their applications, were tested and declared by Grim to be the perfect candidates. They met and fell in love and waited to be sent to the SimNation.

Their new home ... Lucky Palms.

They romanced each other, exchanged rings and got married.

Then they got down to work. To become a Master Gardener, Poly planted seeds in their 'garden'. He also worked away at learning all 44 alchemy elixirs.

Ingo meanwhile painted and sketched, and when she got bored of that, she sketched and painted and for a break she, you guessed it, painted and sketched. She wanted to become a Brushmaster and Proficient Painter.

They assembled a collection of 5 sketches done on the sketching stands. Poly contributed one (the sketch on the far left) and Ingo 4 (the other four).

They also made a best friend each, maxed the alchemy career and purchased a unique life time reward each. On Wednesday of Week 2 they were ready and they retreated to their all in one outhouse to try for baby.

They got the notification their watcher was waiting for and settled down to watch a lot of kids tv.

Late night on Saturday of Week 2, Ingo gave birth to three little ghostboos. One darling little prince and two pretty little princesses. The prince took after his father, and the girls after their mother. Early the next morning the ghostboos were all caked into toddlers and the Cake Acquisition Scientific Project Eating Report (or CASPER for short) commenced.

I admire your persistence. If I had as many computer problems as you, I would either give up or buy something new. I realize the latter is not always an option. Best of luck!

I love how you gave your founders a backstory on how they became ghosts. Good luck with this dynasty attempt  ;D

Romantic Day. What a sweet euphemism. I thought of it as Minion Production Day.

Please note, clicking on the pictures should make them larger.

As you will have noticed, Poly and Ingo had triplets, 2 golden girl ghosts like Ingo and 1 mummy boy ghost like Poly. They were born just before midnight. So just after midnight, they aged up to toddlers. They learned their three essential toddler skills (thank you playpen and walker for talking and walking) and aged up children. They spent the day doing childhood things, and the next morning were aged up to teens and spent that day skilling towards their maxed skills, and then the next morning they were aged up to young adults. All through the use of cakes. So no school for them, and the more expensive brain enhancement machines are on hand to assist with better traits, as needed.

The boy ghost was first to be born and was named Uni. His two sisters were Bi, and Tri. After birth they were put into swings while the caking station was set up. Then they were taken to cakes one at a time after midnight, and put into a walker to learn walking then their siblings followed suit. Then it was into a play pen to learn to talk. Then finally daddy taught them to potty. This was because Mummy was busy learning how to tame a baby dragon. Because she spoke to it about gardening it became a green dragon. And this dragon helped enormously with Queen Ingo's 2nd set of skill challenges. But now, some pictures of ghost toddler ghastness or cuteness, whichever you prefer.

The watcher was pleased that his plan of properties to put down worked so well. One of the houses he put down was 'Grandpa's Grove'. One of the five properties he put down was the greenhouse set (the one with the dancing sunflowers and the fast grow stations and all the seed spawners). Between the green dragon and the tractor, both Grandpa's Grove and the Greenhouse were easily harvested and Queen Ingo became both a Master Farmer and Master Planter.

Just because I can ... a literal Ghost In The Machine.

In order to stock the family pond, Uni and Tri spent their day of childhood fishing. They would be using gardening as their max skill, but gardening wasn't available for them until their teenage years, and so rather than playing with the toybox, the doll house, the activity set, hopscotch, the tree house or the rocking horse, they fished. Bi's career was to be that of a self-employed Artist. So she spent her day of childhood painting so she could get the needed points in painting in order to register as self-employed.

Come midnight, and they all celebrated with cake again. The three were sent off to the science lab to learn gardening, and Tri took the family dragon with her. As luck had it, gardening was at 320 not 400 that day, so they saved more than usual. They then headed to the greenhouse. Uni gathered seeds at the greenhouse and then harvested plants. Bi collected and sold suns at the greenhouse and then harvested plants.

Tri called on Emmy the Dragon to harvest plants while her siblings collected seeds and suns and her gardening skill jumped from level 1 to level 7. Tri then went to Grandpa's Grove and jumped on the tractor and was able to fertilize, water and harvest the crops with it and then call on Emmy again to harvest the remaining plants. Her gardening skill went to just a touch under 9. Uni sent the seeds he collected to Tri and back at home she planted them and weeded the garden while she waited for Emmy to recharge. Once Emmy recharged, she harvested the home garden and Tri reached level 10 gardening. I am, incidentally going to have her do the Science Career not Band as initially planned.

Uni and Bi have also now gone home and they are now fishing until just after midnight when the first trio of Generation 2 ghosts become young adults thanks to cakes once again and prepare to move out into the wider world of Lucky Palms. Once Tri finished planting some seeds, she joined her brother and sister at the family fish pond. As the midnight hour gets ever closer.

While the teens were gardening and fishing away from the home lot, Poly became a Master Farmer and is currently creating lots of friendship and potent invigorating potions so that very little sleeping is going on, and also so he gains Excellent Elixirs. Poly and Ingo are both at level 8 of their SE Gardening Career and are working towards maxing various skills for the skill certificate collection. Friendship potions will be used soon for Best Friends and the second batch of ghostboos will be born.

And what has Ingo been doing? Well, she's become rather mad. One armed bandit mad, that is.

Following are pictures of Uni, Bi and Tri as Teens as normal sims and as ghosts.

Next up - the first departures and the second group of ghostboos are born.

Now that the first triplets were all Young Adults, attention turned to getting them ready for departure and their own lives. Bi and Tri had portraits painted by Ingo (masterpieces for both of them first try) and purchased the Deep Sea Diner and Fortune Teller's Hut respectively. Uni's masterpiece took three attempts to achieve and he purchased the Vault of Antiquity. As allowed under the ruleset, all three rabbitholes were placed on the one empty lot.

Uni became a self employed gardener and used Emmy and the tractor at grandpa's grove to reach level 10 gardening skill. On the morning of Thursday, Week 3, following the successful completion of his masterpiece portrait by Queen Ingo, Uni moved to 120 Lakeside Drive, just alongside the now dried-up lake.

Bi became a self employed painter and rose to level 5 in that career through the sale of her two childhood paintings. She took over ownership of Emmy, and got to level 10 gardening through green dragon and tractor. Bi moved out on the afternoon of Thursday Week 3 to 140 Lakeview Road, with a lovely view of the dried up lake.

The graduation conspired against Tri with her career as a Scientist. Graduation Day was Thursday and she only had Friday to get to level 2. She was a smidgen under the top in terms of career performance, and so she invited the boss over. He refused to come. So she went on a boss hunt. She found him, tossed a friendship potion at him, became besties and he agreed to promote her to level 2. She asked him to leave and moved out Friday afternoon of Week 3 to 14 The Lake, and unlike her brother and sister, her lake had water in it.

To replace (a bit) of the hole she felt in her heart, Ingo got another dragon egg and spoke to it about the weather. IT hatched into a second green baby dragon that was named Grass. Poly put Emmy in his inventory and harvested the home garden via dragon before heading off to Grandpa's Grove and the waiting tractor. Once he left, Ingo harvested the home garden via Grass and returned to her 'love' affair with the one armed bandits. Once Grass regained her powers, Ingo returned to the garden and did gardening by dragon once again. It wasn't long before Poly and Ingo maxed the SE Gardening Career, and they tried for baby in one of their outhouses. While they waited for the news that Ingo was pregnant, they hit the one armed bandits. Once the news that she was pregnant came, Ingo watched the kid's channel and listened to the kid's radio station. Poly joined his queen in watching the kid's tv station.

They continued to wait for the arrival of their next brood of ghostboos.

You really are putting those dragons to use, I regret not playing with them now I've uninstalled TS3. You're lucky to get two masterpieces on the first try. Congratulations to Ingo and Poly for another RD over with, can't wait to see the next set of ghostboos.
