Downloading custom content with Windows 7? Help!
« on: September 24, 2010, 10:09:29 AM »
I bought a new notebook yesterday, with Windows 7 Home Premium, and have been spending the entire day (literally, I started this morning at 7 and it's just past 4 in the afternoon now! :o) and decided to start re-downloading my custom content. However, there is no response from the SIMS 3 uploader when I try to do it via Internet Explorer and I get an error message when trying with Mozzila Firefox! Can anyone give me some help on how to solve this? Please!  ???

Windows 7 is a little different to get used to. Just a thought. Have you checked your task bar after you try to download? Sometimes you'll get a message asking if you want to allow this action. Also open your task manager to see if you have downloads running already.

It is the store bought items - in specific, the new pirate town and other items that I bought and downloaded without hassel on my previous computer (which had Vista). The download appeared in the uploader, but immediately canceled due to a download error, whatever that may have been.

What exactly does the download error say? Does it give you any more information?

It says: "There was an error while downloading content. Please see log for detail." Only, where on earth does one find the log?
