Will there be a Carl's Sims 4 forum?
« on: April 18, 2014, 03:44:43 AM »
OK, I am not sure whether this is the right forum to post this but I am wondering whether there will be a Carl's Sims 4 forum up and running once the game is released in a few months time.

The reason I am asking is because I find the forum as well as the guide very useful.

Please advise. Thanks!

 :)

Yep, Carl's said a couple of times he's going to do a Guide and Forum for TS4. :) As I understand it, your username/password will work for both forums, or it will be a different category, so you can choose to show both, or one or the either. :)

I'm also going to move this to the Corrections & Suggestions board.

As was said, yes! I can't wait to get the chance to do this again and learn from both mistakes and successes. I will first make a design and gateway, then move the Forum over to the new address. This will all happen at a time near the release. For now, I'm enjoying the opportunity to take time to work on other games and also relax. There are things incomplete on the Sims 3 guide that are incomplete and I may never get to a point where I feel it's perfect, but I learned a lot that will help with future development and thus make updating much more efficient on my end.

Yes. There will be two categories - the Sims 4 on top, Sims 3 on bottom. We will even keep the Sims Medieval archive. If you were around during that time period, you'd know how it'll work. The categories are collapsible so if a person didn't want to see a list of boards for TS3 on the main page, they could collapse that so that only TS4 will be visible. This will make it functional for people who are still playing Sims 3, while allowing for new discussions to take place within the Sims 4 category and its boards. It'll take some discussion with staff, but it's likely we won't create boards for TS4 until the day the game launches so that we don't have a lot of threads with speculation to prune when we have the real deal in our hands on launch day ;)

If you look at the top of the board index, you will see on the green bar where it says "The Sims 3 Forum". That is the Sims 3 category. Far to the right of that is a '-' sign, which can be used to collapse the category. So, we'll just have another category when TS4 hits. Players who don't own TS4 can collapse that and use it as a Sims 3 Forum. The address will be carls-sims-4-guide, as you might have guessed.
