Who's Your Favorite Goth (Child)?
« on: May 27, 2014, 11:46:40 PM »
I've been playing the Goth household for a while now, and Cornelia and Gunther had five additional children: Kelton and Christine; and James, Samuel, and Morgan. I'd like you guys to vote on which child is your favorite, and who should continue the Goth family line (under my reign of terror). Forgive me if this is against the rules--I feel like I've seen something like this before, so I thought it was okay. Reference and voting link will be at the bottom. Oh, and sorry for the walls of text.

Kelton Goth

Kelton Goth is the eldest of the six Goth children and also the eldest of a set of twins. His twin sister, Christine, and him are unfortunately not close due to misunderstandings as children. Christine much preferred outside socialization than the chaos in the household. Kelton, however, was more secluded, and was often in a bad way or out of sorts when he awoke, until about ten to eleven in the morning. He also thought himself unlucky and neurotic, and was very obsessive about cleanliness and became very frightened of death after his older brother, Mortimer, died by drowning. To his credit, he does have a great sense of humor and cracks jokes often in class, earning him the title Class Clown at his graduation ceremony. He has a great relationship with his mother. When he was a teenager, she taught him the basics of alchemy and they would visit the elixir shop every weekend. This habit stopped when he caught fire after eating a magical jelly bean from the bush right outside, and she refused to teach him any more after he turned himself into a toad (and her, too!). James, one of the triplets, is also a friend of his, due to their shared preference of being alone. Kelton did have a happier childhood than his twin sister, but at first glance, it doesn't seem like it. His fear of death increased once his father died at the ripe old age of 97. When he turned 19, he vowed to pick up in his late brother's and late father's footsteps by mastering both the Guitar and Charisma skills. Mortimer had always loved the sound of music, and Gunther had always been a smooth talker. He is a Scorpio, unlike the rest of his family, and enjoys Indie music, Porscini Ricotto, and the color Violet.

Christine Goth

Unlike her twin brother, Kelton, Christine Goth was always outgoing and friendly as a child and teenager. She became close friends with Joaquin Keaton, but seeing as he was older than her by a few years, she lost contact with him quickly after he graduated high school (she was a freshman at the time). Christine took it hard when Mortimer and Gunther died, staying in her room and refusing to clean up the messes she would make: tissues strewn over the floor, the toilet clogged and dirty, and a stench hanging over the place. Kelton was even forced to sleep on the couch in the living room for a few weeks in their preteen years because he couldn't handle her slobby nature. Eventually, she came out of her funk. Once she began high school, she tried to fill the gap that Mortimer had left inside her by using her outgoing nature in a different way: flirting. She wished for a romance like the one Bella and Mortimer had, but never found the right man for her. Her standards weren't necessarily high, but there weren't many boys at her school and Joaquin was the only one who she really connected with. She also became increasingly hot-headed, to her family's dismay. The slightest things would set her off. She became angry with the world sometimes, for taking Mortimer away from his family and Bella. She became angry at her father for leaving her mother when she was a child, for cheating on his wife with Bella after Mortimer died. She kept it bottled up inside her for a long time. Once she hit young adulthood, she decided she wanted to be a politician, and turn her outgoing nature into charisma and smooth talking. She is a Virgo, like two of the three triplets, and enjoys Pop music, Fish & Chips, and the color Hot Pink.

James Goth

James is the eldest of the Triplets, as their family and friends refer to them as. Like Kelton, he is secluded and prefers the company of a few friends at a time rather than a whole group. He excelled in school, placed in Honors classes starting in third grade. On the weekends, instead of hanging with friends like Christine, he could be found at Pinochle Point or Crystal Falls with a guitar and a journal. He often said that the outdoors were his friends, which received strange looks from many. However, he was also very sensitive and when his brother and father died, it hit James the hardest, even though he hadn't really talked to Mortimer at all with the large age gap between them. He has been good friends with his mother since his birth. Cornelia even admitted a few times in private that James was her favorite: sensitive, sweet, and with the perfect combination of his parents' features. He is also friends with Kelton, whom he shares his music with, and Morgan, the youngest of the triplets. He also painted when he was younger, and Morgan would pretend to host a selling of James's art in the living room. Cornelia and Gunther would pretend to buy them, but then sell them for a better price at the Consignment Shop or to friends. James had the happiest childhood of his two brothers. To help his mom after Gunther's betrayal and subsequent departure (he had been a well-paid author), James took a part time job at the Spa as a Clothes Folder. Once he turned 19, however, he began to follow his dream of being a Hit Movie Composer- with his brains and love of music, he would be sure to be one of the best the Simworld had seen in a long time. He is a Sagittarius, unlike his brothers, and likes Soul music, Ceviche, and the color Lilac.

Samuel Goth

Samuel is the middle child, both in the set of Triplets and in the overall count of Cornelia's children. He was never close to his father, which benefited him in the long run, but he became very good friends with his mother once he began elementary school. She taught him that it was okay to pursue different interests than what others told him. Instead of taking up alchemy like Christine, Kelton, and Morgan, or music, like Mortimer and James, Samuel volunteered at the local animal shelter, mainly with the kittens. Samuel would even fish in the pond at Central Park to catch some additional food for the little balls of fur. He grew to love cats and asked for one many times--his mother, unfortunately, always said "no," that she was allergic to their fur. Like James, Samuel much preferred being outdoors (in the heat) than staying cooped up inside. He was affected by his father's death, but he felt guilty; he wasn't as upset as he appeared to others. However, he is a good person deep down and nothing could change that. He wants to do good in the world, and heighten the mortality rates for strays, especially cats. He doesn't think he wants to pursue a family, simply because he dislikes children. Samuel is a Virgo, like Morgan and Christine, and ironically enough loves Kids music, cookies, and the color turquoise.

Morgan Goth

Morgan was the youngest, and least developed of the Triplets. He grew up the scrawny child, but was picked in sports because of his speed and stamina. He was a lucky child in that he usually came out on top, sometimes through other people. Though he was never caught, he did copy off of James's homework at times when he was late for school and didn't have enough time to do it on his own. Thankfully, Samuel never caught him either, or he would have turned him in. He was friends with James through childhood, and would pretend to sell his paintings to his parents. All the proceedings would go to James; Morgan thought of it as paying him back for his homework answers. Morgan loves the heat and would prefer sunbathing and swimming to spending eight hours a day, five days a week in school. He is also a bit slobby, which bothers Kelton and his mother to no end when they go into his (shared) room and find 1/3 of it covered in junk. In his senior year, he met Joanna Bryson at prom, who accepted him for his inherited slim frame and kissed him all the same. However, their romance will most likely not continue as she is due to move to Twinbrook for her father's job. Morgan was close to his father before his betrayal of Cornelia and death, and was very upset when his father left their family. Gunther had taught him the basics of writing, and his short stories were often sold to his father for a profit. Once he turned 19, he vowed to become a Superstar Athlete and show the world what he could do. He is a Virgo, loves Dark Wave music, mushroom omelettes, and the color black.

Note: Cornelia and Gunther were married for a long while. When the triplets became children, Mortimer died of drowning on a date with Bella Bachelor. She had his child, Emilio, and then married a man named Aaron(?) Maxwell. Gunther invited her over (they were attracted) and did a Heat of the Moment Kiss with her, which she accepted. Cornelia autonomously broke it off with Gunther afterwards. I got a notification a few days later that Gunther had died of old age.

I'll leave this since the voting is over, but we normally don't allow things like this unless it's part of an actual story.  Having a thread specifically for just the voting isn't quite what we want to see.  No harm done, though, just remember it for next time.
