Garden in the basement...
« on: August 27, 2010, 04:34:35 AM »
I had an idea last night but i wanted to now...
Is there a way to make a indoor underground garden? And if yes how do you get grass and flowers down there?

I am not sure if this will work, but you can try using the cheat moveobjects on .  I have placed outside plants and flowers inside using this method.

I thought of that my question went more to the grass and about planting things like lifeplants and so on down there.

The only method I can think of is making the old basements, but you can always moveobject on the Life Plants and plants down as Wildred said.  :)

In Egypt there is a tomb with underground gardens with life fruit or flame fruit. If you have WA maybe you could take a look and see how they did it.

I think they may have used Buydebug and then used their fancy game software to change the quality!  ;D

With the moveobjects cheat, you aren't constrained by slopes, indoor/outdoor rules, or snap-to-wall placements. This includes planting seeds, buy mode placement, or dropping a tent or firepit from your inventory. The latter two are quite useful when your sim is camping out but there is just not quite enough space for a normal placement.

The terrain paint style grasses cannot be done beyond ground level, but all the various plants you can see in build mode, as well as any gardening-related plants, can be placed where you see fit with that cheat on.

Makes it really useful for smaller lots, because you can have a rooftop garden, or in your case a basement garden, and not have to waste space on the ground level for them.

Awesome!  There are parts of it I don't quite understand but I'm going to give it a shot.  I've wanted an underground garden for forever.  Thanks for posting that samoht.
