I can't install update 1.6

So basically, when I first installed sims from Origin it didn't install the most recent version for some reason. So I clicked update and it installed. The Sims loading screen had a grey background with no words but the green bar. When it loaded it had everything but the text. I clicked the check and the "Log In!" screen appeared but it had no text. I clicked what I think was no and it started to load, with still no text. It crashed at the 1/4 mark. I reloaded, still nothing. Restarted and reloaded, still nothing. Reinstalled and reloaded, I still have nothing working. So I reinstalled and left it on the current, working patch. But now I can't have my Immortal Dynasty, and I really need help. I only have one reinstall left (thanks EA,) so please help me fix this.

Try to download an install the patch directly instead of using the launcher. There's links to all the patches and the super patch on Crinrict's Blog.
That's the only way I can update the game. The launcher always locks up or crashes on me when trying to update.
