No CD mod for Mac?

Hey everyone! I've been combing through the message boards all day for answers and when I didn't find one I decided to make a topic of my own.

I installed Sims 3 but after moving I've misplaced the CD's. I've already tried downloading the No CD mod and I've been getting lost ever since. I've found two other posts about this subject but neither of them have helped me so far. According to what I've read, I have to use terminal in order to make the No CD mod work but after opening the ZIP file, the mod downloaded as a .package file and not a .command file, which seems to be what's causing me all these issues. I've already managed to bypass the launcher but after everything loads it gets to the screen where my families are and it asks me to insert a CD. I know I'm probably missing something very obvious but I am NOT terminal savvy at all and I really love this game, I just want to play it again! Thanks a bunch in advance for anyone who can help me out!!

I'm a little confused about this.  If you have lost the CDs for the game, where exactly are you getting it from that you need a mod to do it?  If you registered your game on the official Sims 3 site, you should be able to download it through Origin without the disks.

NoCD is a NRaas mod that allows you to run the game without a CD. So if you have the games already installed, and haven't got them registered through Origin (or can't be bothered to go through the hassle of uninstalling, downloading, and reinstalling), and have the game installed, you can run it without the CD.

Ok, I see.  Would this do the same thing?  It's for windows, but maybe there's something in there that might work for a Mac.
