This is seriously messed up...

 Hey guys, I have another problem here...

I'm doing a quest in Al Simhara, Egypt.

I'm supposed to go to a house, and disarm the traps in the basement tomb beneath it. In order to visit a tomb that is beneath a household, you need to be invited in by the host in order to gain permission to explore underneath.

I went to a house pointed on the map, that goes by the name of the "Rashid Household". I checked the door, it said no one was home. Alright fair enough... I placed my tent on the ground and started lot camping... I waited one sim day, and still nobody home. When I hover the mouse over the " visit the rashid household" button, I see a subtext that says "Farauk isn't home"

It seems that the house belongs to some loner guy who wants to die alone and he's out there making me wait...

I patently starter screening the entire town and I got to the marketplace. Guess who was the relics vendor - Farauk Rashid... The guy that is supposed to be home and that has to allow me access to the tomb by inviting me in his house... How am I supposed to enter the tomb, when he's too busy with his 24/7 job thus he will never return home...

Cheats and mods are always my last resort when I deal with bugs...

If you guys have any suggestions I would like to hear them.

This happened to me once.  I finally resorted to going in to Edit Town and moving in another sim.  Then my sim was able to visit and gain access.

Yup, that is messed up.  I think your only options are to do as Schipperke suggested, or go back home and try on a different vacation.  Maybe by then he will have a child or spouse or roommate, or maybe he will have moved to a different house.

This happened to me before.  What I did was cancel the opportunity and return to the opportunity board.  Then I waited for it to pop up again.  It did, with a different household.
