My Sim is invisible and create a sim won't load!

So I was playing Sims 3 last week and when I was on the loading screen on the way back from China (World Adventures) it stopped loading. (The bar stopped filling up with green, if that makes sense:P). So it was just stuck like that for ages. Eventually after about an hour I ejected the disc and had to shut my whole computer down to get sims to close down. When I went back on it nothing had saved and my sim was invisible. I went online and had a look for a solution. Someone suggested going to plan outfit and doing something (I cant remember what). So I tried that, but then I was just stuck on the "Entering Create a Sim" screen for hours! Now my sim is just invisible and whenever I try to go anywhere such as create a sim or to another country, I just get stuck on the loading screen. Perhaps there's a problem with the Sims files or a folder is in the wrong place or something? Really want it working again, any suggestions?

As for Create A Sim not loading. You may want to try some of these tips, if you haven't already.

Delete the cache files (socialCache.package, Sims3Logs.xml, simCompositorCache.package, scriptCache.package, compositorCache.package, CasPartCache.package)

-- and delete everything except Ccmerged.package file in your DCBackup folder.

-- Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > DCBackup

If you've got mods and custom content, regardless of if it's items made by EA or 3rd party CC, try playing without them to see if that helps. Copy your mods folder if you have one to the desktop. Load the launcher, click the Installed Content tab, and checkmark Run without custom content.

Try a factory reset - Copy your Sims 3 folder to the desktop. Rename your current Sims 3 folder to something like Sims 3 Current. Click the Sims 3 icon to create a new Sims 3 folder. Then copy your game saves, files and such over to the new game to see if that helps. (This is different from a total-game reinstall)

In addition to MrsFlynn's suggestions, one of the things that has worked for me with invisible Sims was to have them take a shower.  I always like it when something simple like that fixes the problem, so it might be worth trying.

Thanks! I'll try the shower first just in case, how cool would it be if taking a shower fixed everything

If that doesn't work then I'll try restoring a backup, so thank you for that it looks very promising. Also, I created a new game to see if it would work and everything has worked fine so I'm presuming there's a problem with that particular save.

i've tried that solution but nothing happened .. my sim suddenly get invisible.. all i can see is the green diamond on the top of her head ..
