Graduated without degree and can't attend class

I sent my two sims to university to get their degrees. One was studying technology and the other was studying the sports degree. They already had half of their credits from the aptitude test and were able to get the remaining credits by doing two weeks of maximum credits. At the end of the two weeks, I got the option to invite people to their graduation but when Saturday rolled around, they were sent home with the standard message about re-enrolling. When I tried to do that, it told me that they already had their degrees in those fields but they never got the actual degree. When I sent them back, switching their degrees, it wouldn't let me send the sim studying technology (previously studying sports) to his first class. It keeps telling me it's not his class time.

Is there a way for me to get their original degrees and how can I send my sim to class?

This reply is very, very late.  But, it may help someone else.  I only bought this EP a couple of days ago and my Sim did not get her degree.

I went back to a save just prior to her graduation, reduced the invites to three or four and played the last day through again.  She got her degree and her extra trait.

I have another problem though.  My sim was allocated "Avant Garde" for her Social Group trait so, I elected to change it. It did not change.  So, I went for another social group but, it would not change on the second or third attempt either. .  Finally, I took my Sim Back to the pre-Uni save and played it all through again.  Still no change.  BUT, I did have the "No Degree" problem again!  So, once more back to repeating the last day.  This time it took 2 attempts, so, I am guessing this is a common bug.
