Invite household problem

So, I'm trying to snag a couple of homeless townies in DV for the dynasty. I know one member of the household so I use the 'invite household' option. No matter what time or day, I get the 'sorry, it's not a good time for us' message. When I tried this on a previous game, I could get the individual household members' panels in my relationship panel and invite them over separately but that hasn't worked yet. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance!

It's possible the members of the house are in a seriously bad mood from being stuck.  Are they in Bridgeport?  Pay a visit to their apartment, they could be stuck trying to get into the elevator so they're hungry, tired, smelly, bursting for the toilet etc.  They might also be stuck in their garden and not taking care of their needs which sometimes happens when starting a new world.  I usually visit each house after starting a world to watch all sims move into their houses otherwise they'll just stand in the garden doing nothing and losing happiness over time.  If you use NRaas mods you'll get hints they're stuck when the next morning you get a spam of "this sim has chosen to be tardy" or "work isn't an issue for this sim as they've decided to stay at home" messages.

This ties in with geekgirl's post... I've had problems inviting over my sim's girlfriend several times until I found she was occupied/stuck somewhere, so I've developed a habit to use resetsim on the girl before having my sim call her. It usually works like a charm, maybe it'll help you as well? At the very least, it should kick the sim you want to invite over out of any activity/place they might be stuck in.
