Matsuri Random Town Jump
« on: May 26, 2014, 04:31:08 PM »
So I decided to give the Random Town Jump a shot.  The first world that came up was Isla Paradiso.  I hadn't played with any of the families there before, so after realizing the Dreggs were ghosts, I decided to start with Rei Matsuri from the Babes on the Beach household.

This is what Rei looks like when the game begins...

And this is what she actually looks like, without that awful hat.

Her traits are Handy, Bookworm, Hydrophobic, Easily Impressed, and Light Sleeper, and her Lifetime Wish is The Tinkerer.

Unlike her housemates, Rei actually has a decent (and unique) romantic interest, Harley Greenwood.  So she asks him out to meet at the beach.

He quickly went from romantic interest to boyfriend...

Then to fiance...

And finally, husband!

I decided to move the two of them into Harley's house, and moved his roommate, Rajan Patel, in with Rei's roommates, both of whom are his romantic interests.  That should be interesting.  This is what Harley's house looks like.

And this is Harley himself, without sunglasses.

His traits are Loves the Outdoors, Party Animal, Daredevil, Heavy Sleeper, and Angler, and his Lifetime Wish is Presenting the Perfect Private Aquarium.

Unfortunately, Isla Paradiso is lagging really bad for me, which is why I have so few pictures.  I think I'll mix things up a bit, and have them move immediately.  That way there will only be one kid, instead of two, who has two parents from the same town.

Very nice start...those are two of my favorite sims from IP.  It really stinks that IP lags so bad because there's stuff you can only do there, like dive and collect islands.

Well, I guess hydrophobic doesn't work that well in an island paradise anyway.

The saddest part about IP is the lag. If it wasn't so hopelessly slow it'd be my favorite town by far.

In my game, Isla Paradiso started lagging only after 20 weeks of playing, otherwise it's been fine. Story progression worsens the problem.

It didn't lag for 20 whole weeks? Your computer must be amazing.

Nope. Just ordinary Toshiba laptop. I come across a few small problems with IP, a broken family tree and some routing issues, but otherwise fine, and it ran without Story progression just finely for 20 weeks.

Ah, without story progression. That explains it. I kind of feel I'm going off topic now, so I did want to tell you that I really like your choice of founders, tirajm.

Thanks for all the comments!  Yeah, I really wish Isla Paradiso was smoother, though that was much worse than anything I've had in the past.

The next town on the list was Bridgeport.  Currently, they're living in one of the houses that comes with Generations.  I would've rather been in an apartment, but I wanted plenty of bedrooms and there wasn't anything in their price range.  Here's what the place looks like.

First floor

Second floor

Third floor

Rei and Harley get settled in pretty quickly...

And before long, this is happening.

I am a terrible watcher, and so I don't have any pictures of the actual birth.  It didn't help that I was somewhere between celebrating and panicking, because Rei had twins!  I think I probably listened to more of the kid's music than she did, but having her read in the room with the stereo paid off.

Unfortunately, she went into labor right before I got her breakfast, so I only got to pick one trait each.  I aged them up almost immediately (I have no patience with infants), and here are their toddler headshots.

This is Ellie, the oldest of the twins.  She's Friendly and Loves the Outdoors.  She has her mom's coloring, but I'm guessing more of her dad's features.

And this is Chuck, the younger of the two.  He's a Genius, and also Loves the Outdoors.  He's got his dad's hair, but the rest of his face comes from his mom.  It's hard to tell from the front, but they have very different noises.

The twins are so cute!  They are a really nice combination of your founders.  Looking forward to more :)

Since you have two toddlers, I'd be willing to take one off your hands. They're adorable! Sucks that Isla Paradiso's lag had to change your plans, though. :-\
