My Sims 3 launcher crashes soon after launching it.

Hello, Ever since I updated to Version 1.67, I'm having an issue where about 30 seconds after I start up the launcher, the launcher crashes, if I'm quick enough, I can still play the Sims 3, however, this will obviously cause problems in the future for if I want to be in the launcher for any length of time. I have not had this problem before updating to the most recent patch. I have tried launching the launcher as an administrator and in compatibility mode for Windows XP.

Here's my setup:

OS: Windows 8.1 Basic 64-bit
Processor: Duo-Core Intel Core I5-3230M @ 2.60 GHz (Turbo Boost @ 3.10 GHz)
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Video Card: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 660M w/ 2GB GDDR5 VRAM

I have every Sims Expansion Pack and Stuff Pack besides Katy Perry's Money-Grab, I mean, Sweet Treats (Yes, I have to make a comment about it every time it comes up). If anyone can help me with this, I would highly appreciate this.

Is your Origin up to date?

You didn't post what error or crash message the game gave you. So I'm assuming that it was similar to Sims 3 Has Stopped Working?

From what we've been able to find it doesn't seem to matter whether you're using Window 7 or 8. Sims behaves the same either way.

In terms of Origin being updated, there was an update when I launched origin again (I usually just launch my Sims 3 game on it's own without origin which was working fine previously without any problems). After it updated, I kept origin up and started the launcher again. It stayed up without crashing, so I Decided now I'd try it again without origin up and it worked again, so yeah, I guess origin needs to be up-to-date for the sims to work, thanks guys.
