Homework
« on: January 23, 2014, 10:33:39 PM »
Is there any way to give my sims homework before they start school without using resetsim? I had a child somehow get homework, and I had never reset them. If they don't have homework in their inventory, family oriented parents can't tell them to do homework. I can't find a way to get them to do homework with other sims who have homework, either.

I don't know of a way to do that.  Are you just wanting to get a head start on school before the child actually attends class?

Well, tutoring can do that, but that's banned for the baby boomer challenge. For other files, if you get a big green smiley face for both mood and homework, tutoring is much more effective. I'm darned if I know how one of my sim-kids managed to get homework without me knowing about it until I saw the ugly, red, not-done-homework face just before the end of school. I've run a lot of scenarios, and none of them end in my test-kid getting homework, and I've left plenty of room for free-will, too. I'm beginning to think that there may have been an object glitch of some sort which forced a sim reset.

Ok, so you don't mean that you're trying to find a way to do it, but rather your child had homework in his inventory before school started and you're wondering how that happened?

I have the opposite problem in one of my games right now.  The child Sim was going to school every day, but never had any homework in her inventory.  She always had that ugly red face for homework, but she still managed to get an A in school, even without tutoring.  She went every day and worked on her late homework during school hours.  I didn't wait to see if she got any high school homework.  I sent her off to boarding school when she aged to teen.

Yes - kind of both actually. My child had homework in their inventory, and I would sure like to be able to repeat it! If I could find out how they managed it, maybe it could fix your problem too!

I think it is random, or maybe a glitch.  I have had some of my sims kids end up with homework before they start school and some not.  I try to remember to check and see if they have it as soon as they age up, they can then do it and get the jump start, have a B on the first day, instead of the C.   It doesn't happen often, of my project family, 14 kids so far, only two had the homework in their inventory before they started to school.

I've never had a child with homework in their inventory before their first day of school.

It seems to just be a random glitch. One of my children at the moment ended up with homework soon after her child birthday, in spite of not having gone to school beforehand. Never reset her, never did anything out of the ordinary.
