Can you make staircases diagonal?

I have started building a new house and did not think ahead.  I have a garage facing forward on the lot and made the house on a foundation diagonal from that.  Is there a way to make the staircase go diagonal?  I really don't want to tear down my garage, so my fingers are crossed that I can put in a staircase.  Thanks for the help.

I'm sorry to say that stairs can not be placed diagonally. Stairs have always been the hard part of building, right from Sims 1. There have never been enough options with them.
