No worries.  It doesn't really come up often enough to put in the official Forum Rules.  We just address it when it happens.

When we started this Forum, we decided to allow polls only for specific information that is needed by Carl or the Moderators.  There were times during development that the polls were helpful to gather this information.  We kept it restricted to these uses in order to help keep the Forum looking tidy and easy to read.  Plus, we found that regular discussion works well for members who are just curious about certain things.  I hope this helps answer your question.
