Sims not automatically eating food they make

Does anyone else's sims automatically put the food they make on the counter instead of eating it if their health bar isn't in the orange? This started happening right after I started over for the first time, now it happens every single game.

Unless they have the hunger moodlet mine always put the food on the counter rather then eat it.

They should get the hunger moodlet when they hunger bar reaches yellow right?

Mine always put it on the counter unless it drops below yellow. If it's orange or red they automatically eat.

So the same thing's happening to you to huh? It's just weird that this never happened my first play through

It's been a long time since I've played the console, so I'm going from old memories and what has happened to me on the pc.

I believe if it's anything but green they're actually hungry and they'll eat the food.

I wish that was the case, my sims never automatically eat when the bar is in the yellow, for some reason it has to be orange or red for them to automatically start eating the food they make.

I don't feed them when their bar is red.  Usually if the bar is halfway empty I have them make food, especially if they have to go to work/school.  But it is annoying when I have them make food and they put it on a counter or table after.  Obviously they aren't hungry but I mean it should be automatically programmed that if they make food they eat it right away unless you tell them not to.

I have my chef sims make a few meals one right after another trying to get up to the 75 mark faster. I wouldn't want to have to cancel in between if they auto-ate (not a word, I know).
