Story Progression
« on: December 29, 2013, 08:29:46 AM »
I apologize if this is in the wrong thread.  But does anyone know where I can find a story progression mod that's not Nrass?  I love his mod, but my computer has decided to reject it ever since Island Paradise.  I need some a lot less resource taxing.

I'm going to move this to the Mods board for you.

There's also Awesomemod. However, that mod only gives children to townies who live in a house with a double bed and a crib. Townies who don't have any of these won't get children. Besides that, eventhough there's an easy-to-use (a lot easier than Nraas' mods) configurable tool, not everything can be turned off, including a trait Awesomemod adds. The latter is a major turn-off for me, which is too bad, as I really like the rest of it.
And never, never ask a question at its official forum, unless you want to get flamed. They see 98% of the questions as dumb and honestly expect you to use a malfunctioning Search function or to scroll through a thread before you find the answer of your question at page 42, 5th comment, 2nd paragraph.
These are the only two Story Progression mods. There used to be a third one (which actually was the first Sims 3 SP mod ever), but that hasn't been updated in, I think, years.

Shimrod over at simsasylum has an xml story progression, it's pretty much EA's with a few tweaks to stop emmigration, random deaths and families downsizing to smaller homes. What it won't do is give you townie babies although they may hook up and move in together in standard EA fashion. It's removes the things that annoy me the most about EA's story progression but it wont bring your town to life like Twallan's does unfortunately.

Pair it up with a mod like Master Controller though and you could assign jobs and make pregnancies using the pollinate function yourself.
