Babysitter trapped my baby!
« on: December 23, 2013, 04:58:38 PM »
I have a big issue…I saved the game before one of my household members got pregnant. I'm playing on The Sims 3 for PS3. She ended up having triplets, and she went to her friend's house because her friend also had twins on the same day. My person's husband also came with us, so we had to call a babysitter for the triplets. When we got back home, the girls were scattered all around the house, and one of the babies was trapped under the foundation! I have no idea how it got there, or how the babysitter was able to take it under there. I tried to have my sims pick up the baby, but they kept whining that they couldn't get under there. Me, thinking this was just a weird glitch, had my sims go back into town, thinking that it might reset. Another babysitter was called, but it wasn't the same one who trapped the baby. When I got back, the baby was still trapped! I didn't know what to do, so I went back to my last save, which was before my sim even got pregnant! Can anyone tell me what went wrong?? Thanks!

P.S. From now on I'm taking my kids everywhere I go. No more trusting the Sims 3 babysitters!

I think i's just a regular glitch(altough you never know, maybe the babysitters are  organizing some kind of conspiracy...;). I don't know if it's possible on PS3 but a simple resetsim will help you in case it happens again.

You can do a mailbox cheat, think it's L2 and X buttons (or maybe L1) while you have the mailbox selected. I can't remember if you have to have all the cheats enabled or not, as I know you said you didn't want to use cheats. But if you do the mailbox thing, you get a list pop up with things like set carreer, make friends for me, make needs static etc. There will be one that says reset sim, then if you click that, the list of household members will come up, so select the baby's name and hopefully the baby will appear somewhere else in the house.
The only other thing you could do is demolish some of your house to get to the baby that way.

I think resetting Sim is all you can do with the mailbox with the PS3. It will give you a list of every sim in town. Just select who ever needs to be rescued.

Slightly off topic but I get annoyed with babysitters.  Your sim goes to work for 8 hours or more and the babysitter only stays for like 2 or 3 hours and leaves.  You have to have a babysitter called about 3 times before someone gets home.  I realize that the babysitters are most likely teens and they can work part-time but geeze, they should stay until someone gets home.

Definitely. The babysitters always leave my Sims in bad moods or stranded all over the house. If it were easier, I'd take all the kids with my Sim when they go somewhere. But even in real life, it's not that easy.

Another reason I'm loving the PC version, the fact that the babies don't end up on the front lawn or somewhere strange! I had a household once with triplets, and I followed one of the adult sims somewhere, then when I got home, the poor babies were spread out all over the yard in the middle of the night.
I seem to recall, though, if you have a babysitter, and you select the baby as the active sim (to check it's needs), that this would count as you being at home and they babysitter would say "looks like I'm done here" and then you'd get the popup thing saying you can't leave the baby alone. So maybe try not having the babies as active
