Help new player
« on: November 21, 2013, 09:50:47 AM »
I'm sorry if I missed this topic, I'm brand new to the Sims 3 on ps3, I was playing the Sims Social on facebook until they closed it, I have a wife, husband & daughter in my household, I'd like to create another adult for a different household, but I don't know how to do it, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sadly on console versions you can't create a new family in a different household on the same save file.  It really stinks, because I really want to do that.  If you want to create a new family you have to make a new save file.

Just a heads up, too. Once the daughter becomes an adult, if you move her out, you will lose the rest of the family. They don't stay in the neighborhood. Even though there are the options of "move out" and "kick out" or "leave behind", essentially they are the same thing. There is no way to keep other family members in the neighborhood. It always made me sad when I was playing a family with several kids, working out which one I wanted to keep in the game.  I always wished we could add our own townies, too, because I got pretty sick of living across the road from the Idahos every single game lol.

I heard that if you go on Options (I read it somewhere, I believe) you can uncheck "Enable Story Progression." That means nothing will happen to your family members. Otherwise they can die or be removed from the town.

I'm not sure if that's just for PC. I read it a few months ago, before I got the game. Sorry if I'm wrong :(
