How do I loose nerd influence?

I have to say that the berate ignorance is a very annoying habit. I would love for my sims to loose their nerdiness so they will not do this anymore - how do I speed this along / what should I keep them from doing?

No video/computer games, no nerdy interactions, no Science skill. Influence deprecates over time, but I don't know of a way to speed it up.

Lol as if I can stop them from doing those!

Sigh, I guess I can just have them throw friendship potions at each other - because micro-managing their social interactions is something I don't feel like doing (the game would never leave pause!)

I found certain traits wont use it, family oriented being one of them, my whole dynasty family ended up getting that trait in the end and it stopped it completely.

According to the code loser or mooch wont do it either but genius, snob, mean spirited and perfectionist will regardless of nerd influence. I had a family oriented genius in my game and she never did it so it seems it trumps the special trait interaction as well if you give them one of those three traits.

I know it's not necessarily ideal to have to change traits, I used the social trait or degree on the adults and any kids got it while aging up, but it totally changed my game and made it enjoyable once more as they were driving me nuts with that action, and you can let them be as nerdy as they like with no worries

Thank you so much for that tip - I think family oriented is a neat trait anyway and as an extra it would be great - nice to know it has more uses than when training toddlers
