I only read through the first page, but I'm sure that all the time that has passed since this EP came out, you've figured this all out.  I just have one question: Why do you think you can't swim across rivers?  I used to do it all the time; that was how I got to the island.  (Faster than zeneport.)  Of course, today I noticed that to get home from the island, my sim is now smart enough to do it himself.  (I used to have to get him in the water, make him swim across, and get him out of the water.)

And if you have zeneport, it's possible to do the entire tomb without cheats.  You just have to zeneport past that one awkward doorway.

The ability to swim in rivers came with a patch that came out earlier this year. World Adventures was released before that patch, so for a long time the only way to get to the island was to zeneport or complete the associated tomb.

If you'd read the last page, you'd have seen several people mention that.

After a number of years playing Sims 3 on and off I noticed something on the little island that I never saw before.  There's a footprint in the large room with the dive well near one of the walls, but it's easily missed if you aren't looking for it because it's camouflaged.  This opens a small area with steps leading down into another small room with an easy puzzle and a chest which contains the ancient statue for that labyrinth.
