New to Sims3 - 2 questions
« on: November 17, 2009, 04:20:08 PM »
Hi All,

I'm a newbie to the Sims3, and so far, I'm learning rather quickly, but I have a few things I'm having trouble on.

1. I'm wanting my married couple household to go out to dinner together, to the beach together, etc. Is there some way to have one sim ask another to go do an activity? I'd like them to do things together as opposed to seperately and can't figure out how to do this. :)

2. I have another sims character that I created that I want to begin playing with. However, I don't want to leave my two other Sims to fend for themselves (as they get pretty cranky if I don't "feed" them!). Any way to "suspend" them while I work with my new sims?

Thanks! Hope these questions aren't too silly. ;-)

Welcome to the forums, viola. You don't click on your target Sim. Instead, click on where you want to go, and you'll see the option to invite or go with another Sim.

Is this a different household? If it's a different household don't worry about it.

Hi viola and welcome!

To get both of your Sims to go someplace together, go to the Map View and click the location you want to go.  You'll get an option to go that location alone or go with someone.  If you click go with someone, you'll get a window that has the names of the Sims you can go with.  Just click the name you want and click ok.  They'll go together.

As for playing another Sim, you can start as many games as you want from the main menu.  You can have your second Sim start fresh in Sunset Valley or Riverview, just like your original Sims did.  However, if you want to play your second Sim in the same game, you'll have to use the Edit Town function on the menu and select "Change Active Household" on the left side.  This lets you play another Sim in the same game, but your first family will continue on without you.  They'll age and live their lives on their own.  When you switch back to them, there's no telling what you'll find!  Also, you'll lose all of the promised wishes when you switch to different Sim.

I hope this is helpful to you.  If you have more questions, just let us know!
