Earning Tips with the Laser Rhythm-a-con

Anyone discover a good place to earn tips while playing the Laser Rhythm-a-con? So far my sim's earnings are paltry even with a topped-out skill and lots of performances.

to my knowledge perusing the intarwebz-- and my experience has corroborated this-- the local sims only pay attention to the laser harp (much easier to spell : ) at a Big Park.  it's an actual qualification of lot.  the problem is that if you also run seasons, it replaced the Big Park with a Festival Park... so it doesn't count as a Big Park for the entire time a festival is running.  which, iirc, is six out of seven days.

so i had to create my own Big Park in isla paradiso.  it isn't all that big or fancy, but it's got some stuff for sims to do, and there are always people around. 

unfortunately, most of the worlds are pretty lousy for tips.  the subways of the [late night city] are good, as are the venues of the [showtime city].  but the only public park with which i've ever had consistent success is the very very original vanilla city.

My sim had already earned the legacy statue for the laser harp. I was just trying to supermax the skill and earn enough money to clear that challenge.

I moved the sim to Bridgeport and the subway worked just like it does for any other instrument.

Speaking of the Laser Rhythm-a-con, I just noticed that at level 3, my sim will play children's songs. So far, I've heard Mary Had a Little Lamb, Bingo (The Farmer in the Dell), and another I can't recall offhand.

To me, the title should be earning tips with Into the Future, period. I can't earn tips with a Guitar outside a theater with dozens of Sims walking by, some stopping to play instruments of their own and getting all the attention I was hoping for. Some stop to take notes, none give tips.

If it does work for you, that's great. I'd love to hear if Plumbots give tips, as they are the only types of Sims stopping to listen to my Sim's music.

I put this little bit of info in the comments for the guild to this and thought I should add them here too. In fact, I finally registered on here so that I could.  Anywho, it seems that there are two traits that help with drawing a crowd when playing the Rhythm-a-con. Irresistible and Natural Born Performer both seemed to help my Sim when I was working on the Legacy statue for this. I don't think you need both, and I would go with Natural Born Performer first of the two.

Thanks for the welcome. I should point out that I haven't done a lot of testing on this, but I did notice a difference when I gave my Sim one or both of the traits.
