Age Transitioning Into The Future?
« on: November 21, 2013, 04:19:21 PM »
Hello my fellow simmers alike. I have a question about age transitioning in ITF? I have my current family in the future right now and one of my sims who is a teen, according to the simology panel, says she wasn't due to age up for another 8 days but she has just aged up in the future to Young Adult and I'm wondering is this a bug or is this part of the gameplay? Thanks in advance and Happy Simming <3

It would make sense to me that Sims visiting the future continue to age, but those back home stay the same as they were when you left, because you're returning to the same point in time. Though time travel isn't related, that's how it works with travel in World Adventures, too. Given that, I'd say this is a gameplay feature. The bug is your counter saying 8 days (if you mean it still says she's a teen and aging up in 8 days..)

Ok so if she was a teen before we left the present and it says in the present 8 days until age, and then we go to the future and she ages the very same day we get there it's normal?
I'm so confused sorry lol!

Sims continue to age while they're in the future. That much is normal since it isn't really a vacation like World Adventures. If your teen had been in the future 8 days then aged up, that would be normal, but you say it happened on the same day you arrived in the future?

My first thought is that it's likely a mod conflict, but then even without any mods added, there are still some strange bugs in the game where the future is concerned. Your teen aging up the day of arrival is certainly not normal if the teen was with young adults or adults.

EDIT: I just had a thought as I hit post for this that may or may not be the cause. I don't say it's likely because the teen was with family, but there's an outside chance that the game code triggered the age-up. Only Young Adults and older can travel to the future unless they are with Sims like parents or something like that. It's possible that the game code saw the teen as needing to be a young adult and triggered the age up. If there's any way to go back to before you made the trip and see if it happens again, that could give you the answer. Then again, it might have been a random bug.
