I have added an exspansion pack to my daughters sims 3 base game but now she cannot play just the base game it says no disc found have I done something wrong can someone advise me please

You can't actually play the game with "just the base game." Any expansion added to your game is active. To play your game, you'll need to use the disc of the most recently-released expansion that you have installed. So, she'll need to use the disc for the expansion to play.

There is a program you can run before you start your game that allows you to play whatever espansions you want by simply clicking the expansion "off". You can not "turn off" the base game with this program. You can find it here . To download this program, if you are not a member, they request you register at their site. The tool you will get once you download the program, asks you to choose what expansions you want then you save it before you start your game.
