Graduated but didn't receive the additional trait

Hi, my Sim just graduated from University with a degree in Science and Medicine. She went to the Stadium to attend the ceremony but with the long queue, she was very late. She was able to enter at last and then after about three seconds was out of the stadium once again. I had a Sim graduate previously (he was able to attend the ceremony in full) and once out of the Stadium was notified that an additional trait has been earned. It didn't happen with the present Sim though. Any ways I can retrieve that trait?

It's happened to me before. You'll have to go to a previous save and go to graduation earlier. I usually have my graduating sim loiter outside for a couple of hours before, so they're the first ones in.

If there is another way, I haven't heard of it.
