When will the price go down?
« on: August 08, 2013, 02:11:31 PM »
Alright so I'm a teenage girl, so my parents usually have to approve what i buy. I really want Island Paradise ep but my parents don't want me spending more than 40$ on a game. So i know that the ep prices are higher when they first come out, and then they lower. I am going to wait for the price to go down, but does anyone have any idea when that will happen? I just started getting really into Sims so i don't know when previous eps have lowered in price... so does anyone have maybe an estimate as to when the price will be lower?
Thanks so much :)
And i just joined the forum! So excited! :)

I'd give it half a year, but Origin often has sales on EPs, so the wait might not be as long. We're pretty good about announcing them on the EA Announcements board, so keep your eyes peeled! :)

Welcome to the forum seese!

There is one SP and one more EP, possibly the last ones, coming out very soon.  After that we're all looking forward to the release date of Sims 4.  Once those two, SP and EP, come out, you can start looking forward to reduced price sales on other packs.  Right now they are offering a lot of double sets at a lower price so I imagine Island Paradise should be lower in 3-4 months.  Worst case scenario, ask for it for a Christmas/holiday gift.

Keep checking on Amazon too, and places like that.  I was just able to find a copy, limited edition, for $30, which included the base game (which I didn't need, but since it was the lowest price for the EP I found, I decided to just get it).

I'm thinking about taking advantage of the current sale but I don't see the Limited Edition (LE). Our local stores carry Limited Edition but they aren't on sale yet.
I know it's probably not a big deal but I'm a collector and have all the other Limited Editions. Hm, such a dilemma...

The Limited Edition does you no good unless you get it right off when it comes out. The special content expires.

My code for the limited edition said it was good until 2014, so you do have some time to get it.

I caved in and bought Limited Edition at WalMart. Good thing I had a gift card which shaved almost $10 off the price. At least I had enough money left over to buy some cat food.  ::) Those spoiled beasts.

Steam now has all Sims 3 expansions and stuff in their inventory.  Their winter sale should be coming up soon and I imagine a lot of the Sims 3 stuff will go on sale.  Just keep an eye out for when it starts.
