Bonehilda Glitch?
« on: July 02, 2013, 04:17:45 PM »
I have the expansions: Generations & Supernatural installed. Recently, I decided to get a Bonehilda. However, I noticed that she does not do much apart from taking out the trash, picking up newspapers, and dishes. She doesn't cook or care for the babies/toddlers. My main concern is to why she doesn't care for the children? She walks up to them with a thought bubble above her head, but it goes away within 3 seconds then she leaves the room. I clicked the child and it says that he/she is going to be picked up by Bonehilda, but she always cancels the action. I've read on here that she did care for babies previously and that she actually wouldn't leave them alone.
SOOOO... my questions are:

Does Bonehilda have a glitch since patch 1.55? (when I got her)
Is there a way to see what traits she does have? - noticed some people talking about traits
Can I ask Bonehilda to do things? ( All I am getting when I click her is, "Chat" & "Dismiss".)

**I've looked through threads and haven't noticed a post speaking about Bonehilda since June 13, 2013. Just wondering if anyone has found a fix for this. Thanks ! :) :) :)

Maybe you should see if the door is locked to the room, or maybe you can try to control her in some way and see what's wrong. If it doesn't work try getting a new bonehilda.
Hope it helps :D

As this is a gameplay issue rather than a technical issue, I am moving this to the Misc Help Board.

Is it a gameplay issue?  Lol.  Unless it's happening for everyone. I'm having TECHNICAL difficulties ;)

Bonehilda is a part of the game play.   If it was your game or your computer that was glitching then it would be a technical problem.

Does this happen for all of your games or just this one?   Does it happen in a factory reset folder?

I'm having the same issue, this is my first time using her and she comes in the room, the baby wakes up, and she just stares at it. Every time he starts to fall asleep, she goes over to the crib, he wakes up, and repeat. I have to keep having one of the adults come dismiss her, then remember to summon her back in the morning to do cleaning.

Positives of Bony
She will clean the house, do repairs, sometimes chase down the burglar, rake leaves in the fall if you have SN.

Negatives:  She won't leave babies and toddlers alone, constantly waking them up from their sleep.  If a meal is cooked she will put it in the fridge when the family is coming to get a plate.  If you have a party she will get the cake and put it up. The guests are then upset they didn't get a slice.  She will go and rake leaves, which is good, but she will ignore the house cleaning unless you tell dismiss her, give it a couple of minutes and then awaken her.
If you have a bar she will make a drink, pee on the floor, mop it up. Make a drink, pee on the floor and mop it up; make a drink, pee on the floor and mop it up. . .

I gave up having a bar.  Unless you can put it in a room and lock the door to keep her out, it isn't worth the hassle, but that depends on how important a bar is to you.

The negatives seem to out-weight the positives, but that is dependent on how much you want your sims to spend cleaning the house and doing repairs.  With a family of six, it can gets dirty quick and I find her more than worth the problems.  I just put her in a room and remove the door or build a box around her and leave her there until the babies age up to child.

She doesn't feed babies, change diapers or cook meals normally.  That doesn't mean she won't on rare occasions, but they are rare.  Extremely rare.  I have had the same Boney in a family that is now at the fourth generation and she has cooked a meal one time.

There is a thread somewhere that is about Boney, you could do a search for it, I'm seem to have trouble getting links to work or I would make one.

I can't imagine playing a game without Boney, but some don't feel she is worth the problems.  To each their own.
