Game Moving Slow Need Help

Hi there, for some reason whenever I play The Sims 3 it moves extremely slow but I'm not sure why. I think it may have something to do with my Nvidia graphics settings, because I just changed them to balance performance and quality but I'm not sure. Also my computer exceeds far beyond min requirements so that's not the problem.

My pc's config is:
CPU: Intel Core i5 3.1ghz
Memory: 16GB
GPU/Graphics: Nvidia GT640 3GB

Also try the cheat: resetsim *
...I have to do that cheat regularly.


Also if you have any mods or cc try playing without them to see if they are the problem.

Thanks for those suggestions I will give them a try when I get home because unfortunately I'm stuck in a boring lecture at school and can't try play The Sims right now  . WILL THIS LECTURE EVER END!!!!

I have also found that if my sims are carrying a lot of inventory items, the game will lag horribly. Now I store everything in chests or the fridge and I have a lot less lagging than I used to.
