I can't update the game

So, I know that the new patch has been up for a while, but I never bothered to update my game since I don't use launcher to start it. But, now I got movie stuff and when I try to update it it gives me some kind of error. I have to check what it is, but does anyone have an idea what should I do?

Have you tried patching with the Superpatch? It's the first patch listed here.

Thanks but, I'm not sure if I can do that, I don't want to risk my dynasties...

What exactly is the error you're getting? Please give us some specific details about what you're doing.

while wizard is updating I get an error 'invalid file found' and the it says that the wizard was interrupted while updating

The first step is to make sure that Origin is updated. To manually update Origin, go to Origin's website and follow the links to download Origin.

If that doesn't help, again, use the Superpatch. If you're worried about your dynasty files, move them to your desktop before you patch. That holds true for patching via the Launcher as well.

Thanks but, I'm not sure if I can do that, I don't want to risk my dynasties...

If you move your files to another area on your computer, (I have mine in a folder on my desktop) your dynasty file will be safe.

You want to always do this before a patch or installing a new EP or SP.
