Thanks for the feedback, everyone! Like I said, I'm sorry I took so long to update. Not only was I working on Cress' story and fighting with her file (my game's been getting so stroppy lately, it'll soon be time for another factory reset), but I was also tackling my very first novel, which has now almost consumed me – but it's great to hear you all love her so and a good incentive for me to keep going with the story.
OK, big day here. Time to introduce you to the next generation!

Ten years had gone by, and the dreadful winter stranger had faded into a distant memory. Cress didn't mention it to her husband – though that was less out of trying to keep it secret from him and more because she now had her hands full all day – not just the garden, but the beautiful little plant-children she and Sam had finally succeeded in bringing into the world.

Maria was their eldest, nicknamed 'Miracle', and the reason she was called that was because she had been born at a time when Cress and Sam had been very close to giving up on their grand dream. Christina Landgraab had taken the secret formula for Cress' kind to the grave, and it had been very frustrating trying to rediscover it. So many plants had died, so many seeds failed to germinate, and Cress and Sam had become very discouraged – but then, miraculously, one of the seeds had reached maturity and grown the plantbaby they wanted so desperately. And because they kept a record of each and every one they planted, they could replicate Maria's and the rest was easy.

(Author's Note: Words cannot describe how thrilled I was to discover that Maria's natural leaf-pattern on her skin was exactly the same as the original Cress - the purplish one. The Cress in this file's natural leaf-colour is reddish and I've missed the purple. But Maria is a little clone of the original Cress in nearly every single way and it's lovely.)

Adam was their second-born, followed very closely by Galatea, their third.

And finally little Sage, who was born last year. He would not be the youngest for very long, as right now a fifth plant was growing in a pot in Cress and Sam's bedroom, ready to be picked in about three months' time.

The girls were all clones of Cress, and unrelated to Sam genetically, but the boys were a different matter. Every time they had made a special seed – which they had started to call the 'Forbidden Fruit' – they had used a slight variation of human and Life Fruit genes, used in the same proportions as those that had been used to create Maria, and presumably Cress. Naturally, Sam had provided the human component for the boys.

Like Cress before them, the children were good children: they did their homework, spent a lot of time with their parents and each other, and each had their own specific interests that they persued in their spare time (and given that they didn't need to eat or go to the bathroom, that was a significant amount of spare time).

Cress could not have been happier. Her dream was fulfilled and her family was thriving.

But meanwhile, something very, very fishy was going on.

Ooo, scary hands. All the plant sims are cute and lovely. They are exact clones of Cress back when she was their age. Looking forward for next update.:)
