Another question about master controller

Okay so I want to do the Runaway Teen challenge, but how do I access master controller before making a sim?  I mean I can make the teen sim but I am forced to put them with a family, I need to get into master controller to disable that part.  Can I access master controller from town without having a sim in it?  Can I access it from CAS before making a sim?  Is there a ctrl+key combo to open the menu somehow?

If you have Master Controller and the Cheats expansion of it installed, you can create a teen in CAS and enter the game without an adult in the household.

okay got that thanks.  now I have another problem.....I keep getting information about random sims skilling up....like some guy christopher leveled up in chess....how do I turn that off?

Sounds like you have Story Progression installed as well, you can set the level of notifications in the "stories" option.

thanks VERY much, I appreciate the help.  God I love Sims....I have very high hopes for Sims 4 but am just enchanted with Sims 3 and it will likely be my "go to" game for a long long time.
