My Sims won't leave their lot/house

At first my sims wouldn't even sleep in their bed only nap on the couch but I figured that out. But after I figured that out something else happened! I tried to send the child in my household to school but she wouldn't go. Same with the dad except he got dressed for work but didn't leave to go to work (he's a lifeguard). I even went to town view and clicked on his job where it said "survey beach" but he wouldn't leave the house he would just stand there like he's stupid or something and the action would just keep going away the second I click on it. None of my sims are tired, they had a full night of sleep!

Is the bus coming to pick up your child? Is your home lot on an island? Was the dad able to go to work before or the child able to go to school before?

-The bus came to pick up my child but she wouldn't even step out the door and the bus leaves and the action goes away. I even tried to send her to school by clicking where you would click for your job and the "go to school" option wouldn't even show and it would say "skipping school".

-My home lot is on land but it's in the water as well but not on an island (the house is on stilts).

-Yes, the dad went to work before and the child went to school before. This happened all of a sudden and neither of my sims want to leave the house for ANYTHING. They won't even go outside to take out the trash, they just stuff it in their inventory (if that says anything).

Have you tried restarting the game? And resetting your Sims/town?

Yes, I have restarted the game numerous times and I"ve reset all of my Sims in the household it didn't really do anything: everything remained the same. Sorry, I'm new to forums in general I just came along this site and made an account since it seems like a lot of people know more about the sims game more than I do.

Then i would try going to edit town and evicting your household, then move them back into the same house and see if that works.

Another thing you could try is seeing if any doors are locked. If all doors are unlocked, tell your sim to 'go here' right outside of the front door. Then, select 'go here's to the sidewalk. Repeat little 'go here's until you are at you final destination. Also, is it possible that something is blocking the exit or try buying a new front door. Hope this helps!

I just thought of another factor that may prevent your sim from leaving that I just experienced. My sims live on a houseboat and she wouldn't go anywhere. She made the routing issue thing but I found the problem. There was a newspaper in front of the front door. I know that your house is on stilts, but see if there is space to put the paper somewhere else besides right in front of the door. If you really can't find a solution, you can use moveobjects to move your sims in and out of the house or you could try resetsim *. Hope that this helps!
