how the game works with expansion packs

I bought the Sim3 game for my daughter with the base game, the loft expansion, the late night expansion (these 3 were bundled and purchased through Origin). I also bought her the Island Paradise expansion (retail DVD). They have all been installed and my daughter has been enjoying playing Island Paradise.

However, she wanted to try one of the other expansion packs but when she clicks on the other icons on her desktop or goes through Origin, the Island Paradise expansion keeps opening. Is this supposed to happen?

Also, is there a way to toggle between expansion packs when you are playing one?  What are we doing wrong?

You can play with as many expansions at one time as you want. The newest expansion you have installed (Island Paradise) will be what opens but the High End Loft and Late Night will still be part of the game at the same time.

All of the expansion packs are active at the same time if they're all installed. As long as you're playing with the newest expansion installed, you're fine.
