Perpetual house fire: glitch?
« on: November 05, 2013, 03:18:34 PM »
I've searched for an answer to this, but all i found was a single video on youtube of the same problem, without any solution...

A fire started in my house, the result of an unupgraded fireplace.  No big deal, right?  The fire alarm sounded, the fireman showed up, put it out, told me to be more careful.  About 6 seconds after it wasout and the alarm had stopped, another one started, apparently in the fridge.  He put this out, told me to be more careful.  This happened a few more times to a few more objects;  i got tired of moving my sims outside endlessly so used a cheat to corral them in the garden.  At the same time, i moved all the objects from th area in which the fires kept starting out to the yard.  After that, the fires started rekindling on the floor.  The fireman kept putting them out and telling me to be careful, then a few seconds later another one would start.  In the meantime, 2 of my sims froze solid andi had to build another structure around them.  Fed up, once they they thawed i had them move to another private lot they owned by the beach, so i could save and try to figure this out.  I dont want to sell the house or really leave it permanently, mostly because i dont want to have to figure out what objects to pack.

I have all expansions up to and including island paradise, except for showtime.  I have the outdoor life sp, and im running on windows 7.  Anyone else have this happen, and/or know what to do about it?  Is kinda cool to have gotten a really destructive fire spontaneously, but enoug is enough.

I have no idea, but I would try moving and taking everything, then moving back in again. See if it still happens.
