Toddler sim has no sound/voice

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. I play Sims on PS3. My daughter plays as well, and she's just created a family. The only problem is there is no sound coming from the toddler. I have tried making one of the sims go to another part of town and then come back, I've tried going into Build mode and back out, I've tried using a mirror to change appearance, and back out. I've taken the toddler to another part of town, and I've used the Reset Sim cheat. I have read that going into CAS can help, but I'm not sure how to get into that once they have moved into a house. The only way I know is from using the Instant Beauty karma but that won't work on the toddler.
So does anyone have an idea of what else I could try? I was thinking of aging up the toddler (without saving) to see if she'd get a voice then. Or is my daughter doomed to have a mute baby?

The toddlers do make tons of noise.  I don't know, maybe you're experiencing some kind of glitch.  I know the babies don't make much noise when they're swaddled and you can't do much with them.  They cry and that's pretty much it.

Do you have your TV on mute by accident?  Sorry probably a dumb question but sometimes people do that and don't realize but then your other sims wouldn't make sound either. 

I'm not sure how you can fix this other than to maybe start a new save file and create new sims.  Sometimes glitches can only be fixed by deleting save files and starting over.

Thanks for your reply. All the normal sounds are there, except for the toddler. Poor thing had her lollipop stolen at the park by Morgan, and sat there silently screaming.
My daughter doesn't seem too bothered by the fact her toddler is mute. She's only 8 (I supervise her while playing it) so suggesting she delete that save file is not really an option. But knowing her, she'll get sick of that family in a week and want to make a new one anyway.
The fact that I'm up to week 13 in one of my saved games (normally the time glitches start, plus I'm up to third gen family) wouldn't affect her saved game, would it?

I'm not sure.  If they are two different save files they shouldn't affect each other.

Yeah, didn't think my save file would bother hers. Who knows, knowing what my kids are like, she probably loaded the disc covered in her fingerprints.
I'm starting to get way more glitches in my saved game now. Nothing game breaking, but just weird stuff. One of the toddlers was in the middle of the block table toy, standing up and down in the middle of it, with her arms backwards lol.

Ooh.  I've heard the console version is especially famous for glitches.  I get some every now and then, but nothing like that.
