I can't see menu

Hello, I have a problem and I would appreciate if you could help me.
 I bought Sims3 Deluxe (Base + Ambitious) week ago, I played it for a wile but now when I enter in my family I can not see any menus (wishes,moods,work,inventory,ect..).
Please help me.

I think you might have a corrupted save file in your game. You can check this out by going to:

My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Saves (if you're running Windows).

The files in there should all end with ".sims3" or ".sims3.backup". A corrupted file is basically a save file that's not working correctly and will be automatically renamed to end in ".bad", so what you are looking for is a save file called "nameofsavefile.bad". If you do have a .bad file in there you can try this:

You will lose some progress as you will have to go back to a previous save, but still, it's better than losing the entire save file.

If you do not have a .bad file in your Saves folder you can try reseting your world. To do this, you have to press ctrl+shift+c on your keyboard and then type "resetSim *" (without quotes), then save (by pressing Alt+F4) and then close the game and load it again. I can't assure you that this will work as I haven't tried it myself, but I have read that it has helped other people and it's a safe and easy solution that you could try. Some people say that pressing F10 works sometimes too, since that is the key you need to press to hide the User's Interface (a.k.a. the Menu) and to make it show up again.

If that doesn't work I'm out of ideas, except for trying a Factory Reset (instructions here: http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,7507.0.html) or reinstalling the game. But try the Factory Reset first, since it's faster and easier and normally works.

I know this is going to sound really stupid - but you're hitting the little arrow that extends the UI (user interface) to show those items and it's not popping up?  I just want to make sure I understand.

Would it be possible to get a screenshot? If you don't know how, you just hit print screen for a PC and Command + Shift + 3 for Mac.   If you're a PC, then just paste it into paint and then upload it using a photo hosting site.   Just using a screenshot from in game won't help because they don't show the UI at all.

Or is it you don't see anything not even your family pictures.  That's something different but you only mentioned the things involved in the pop out.

Sorry guys I(You) solve the problem and then forgot about thank you note!! I'm very very sorry, the second solution with copying and  deleting files got it, but then it erased whole saved game but probably because I didn't play it much (just few sim days) but family stayed in the game so I just bought a new home and start over. But all that count is that I can play again. THANK you guys a lot.
 Just one more quick question will this bug appear again and what is reason, am i doing something wrong with saving game?

Sorry for my bad English :S.
The problem was  I couldn't control my sims  or see his mood, wishes, change to another sims,etc., because I did't have (i dont know the word for it) but the thing that is on the bottom off screen where you can change a household member, choose wishes or go to a bulid mode, see what day/time, is but the game was running...
 I didn't make a screenshoot but it was like this

The picture that you posted has been linked incorrectly, and I couldn't find it by going to the link. To post an image on the Forum, you need to copy its URL and enclose it in image tags, like this:

The URL of the image goes between the tags. Then everyone can see it properly. It's good to hear that you were able to fix the problem. A simple fix would be to push the Tab key and see if that fixes it. The interface disappears when the Tab key is pushed. I don't know why it would appear again or what the cause is, since I've never had it. That's just a guess. By the way, I think the word you want for the menu at the bottom of the screen is the interface.

Your english is no problem, I also speak it as a second language  but I didn't quite understand what you meant by the second solution: did you try the second link I posted? or the first one? I'm asking because if we know how you fixed it we may know what the problem was and tell you how to prevent it from happening again  .

the first link helped me to solve problem (copying saves to a new folder  the deleting the old)

O my God, thing with TAB key actually works, maybe that was my silly mistake. I promise I will never again play with the tab key . THANK YOU A LOT GUYS

I had the same problem and I used a different method to solve it, so I thought I should share it for other people who may have the same problem and visit this thread.

So the interface menu was not showing, whatever button I pushed, no matter how many times I restarted the game. My save file was okay, no .bad files. I didn't want to reinstall, because that would have meant A LOT of lost time and information (I have all the EPs and SPs until and including Paradise Island, so imagine the pain of reinstalling each of those).

What I did to solve my problem was removing the Cache files, which probably canceled an action I have mistakenly done to make the menu disappear. In My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 , there are some files and folders that contain the word "cache". Those are just temporary files which the game uses to load faster after the first session. I deleted all of those cache files, knowing that the game will re-make them anyway. I launched the game and YAYYY, the menu was there again. :3
