Did you try the daycare profession? That would be great for Parents and kids. That means the kids can socialize with their peers.

I always have my mums be self-employed or completely unemployed whilst dads have to suffer the hard work pile at the office. :P

That's a bit sexist, isn't it? My dad stays at home all day while my stepmother goes out to work.
But then again, my dads been off for months with a stupid, broken, infected ankle.

I agree with Athena that the best is painting. I had the mother as a painter and the father as a sculpture. They can take turns with the kids when they have them. Their plan is to buy the Art Museum for their own art work.

I usually do it the other way 'round - dad is self-employed, mum works in a rabbit-hole job.  That way the mum will get that lovely maternity leave with full pay for a few days.  Although I've read that since Generations both parents get parental leave, so maybe that strategy isn't necessary any more.
