sim is partial stuck, restsim won't work

This is the first time it has happened and I didn't find an answer with a search.

Six sims in the room, only one is stuck, but she can move her head around looking in different directions in the room.  The other sims are moving around fine.  I have sent them to interact with  her and she just stands there.  I tell her to do something, such as hold hands with hubby and the order shows up, but she just stands there.

Tried reset several times, went to edit town and came back, still no change, so now what?

I have been having problems with this family, a project one, can't send them to any country in WA as they just vanish and have to go to main menu and return to an earlier save.
Is this family corrupted and I will have to give up on them?

Have you tried using Move Objects On and pick her up and move her to someplace else? I did that once when one of my sims had disappeared down in the ground, or something like that. I don't remember exactly because it happened a long time ago.

yep, tried that, it didn't work.  Resetsim, go to map view and then back to her, edit town and back to see if that would help, anything that I could think of, having different family members try to interact with her, she just stands there turning her had back and forth as if she is looking around.  But no other movement.

I haven't yet gone back to an earlier save, am hoping that I can find out how to fix it, but this game has had nothing but problems. 

I'm beginning to wonder if I should just give up on this family.

Don't give up. There will be solution for that. Have you tried, reset sim *, clear cache files etc. Or have you tried this method: go to edit-town, evict the household(family), saved the house to library, buldoze the house, place the saved house, place the family to the house and then hit play. Hope you get over that problem.

tried reset several times, haven't done the clean cache, am thinking of doing that even though I don't feel real comfortable as to what I am. I'm good at hitting wrong keys so worried I might totally mess up the game and have to uninstall and reinstall.

Had a problem a whole lot earlier in the game and moved them to a new house, that took care of that problem.  Hadn't tried saving to bin, will try that first; just so frustrated, am now having problems of all types in both of my project games.

Don't worry about your English, seems fine to me.  I've heard that English, especially the American type, is one of the hardest languages to learn.

Have you tried changing active family for a while, to see if that makes any difference? And also, saving only her to the bin, and then back to the family? If you do that she will of course lose her family tree connections and other relationships, so that will have to be the last thing on the list before you give up on her entirely.

You don't have to worry about messing up the game if you delete the cache files. On the Swedish official Sims 3 website, one of the moderators specifically recommended that we do that every time before starting the game.

I have followed that advice for some time now, and so far it hasn't caused any trouble that I've noticed. The files end up in the waste basket, so you could open it afterwards and double check the files before emptying it.

I just finished doing the cleaning up of the cache.  Took a chance it wouldn't hurt, may help and if it did hurt, I don't seem to have much to lose right now.

As far as moving her out, it is a project game and it would mess up the project and that basically would ruin my family.  I have to have the connections and the family tree.
I can try saving them to the bin and moving them to another house, but I would think it would save her stuck, but worth a try.

As for active family, I have switched to other families within the same town, doing my "seeding" .  I take townies, married to each other then have them have children so my sim family's children will have someone to marry.  The stupid story progression is having couples from sim townies, but no children. 

It didn't seem to help.  This family has had problems from the beginning, in the first town a couple of the sims had been swallowed as if in quicksand. You could hear them yelling, but no green diamond.  Most of the time I just sent to them to a dresser and they would show up.  That time it didn't but what saved them was when the car came to pick up the husband to take him to work, (bus for daughter to school) they showed up and then came home fine.

Can't travel to other countries, none of the sims in the family show up.

Now having more problems with this family and the other family.  Started a new thread, probably should have added it to this one.

Janna,

If you move the family to the clipboard and  then back into their home, from the clipboard, they will not lose any of there connections.

If you are not sure of this, then, save your game first.  But, so long as they go to the clipboard, not the bin, you will be alright.
