My Sim won't practice guitar

Whenever my Sim tries to practice guitar she goes over to the neighbor's door and complains then returns to her apartment and returns her guitar to its stand. I've taken the guitar class. I can't find any books on guitar at the bookstore or the library. When I click on the guitar my options are "play alone" or "Jam session". I don't get the option to practice. How can I get her to practice?

Those are the only options I get as well with the guitar. I usually choose 'Jam Session', because I heard that raises guitar skill faster than 'play alone' or something like that. I don't think I've ever had the option to 'practice guitar'. Have you tried doing either 'play alone' or 'jam session'?

Thanks for your quick response. I've tried both "play alone" and "jam session". The result is the same. My Sim goes over to the neighbor's, complains (that he isn't home? I don't know), then returns to her apartment and returns the guitar to its stand. Does there have to be someone else present for her to play?

Not in my experience, Shelbing.

Have you tried saving, closing out of the game, clearing the caches and reloading the game again? That's one thing I can think to suggest. Alternatively, try putting the guitar in your sim's inventory and going somewhere to play it.

He might not be able to find anywhere big enough in his neighbor's house to play, so he does the stomp-foot thing (which is what you say he's doing, right?) then goes back home. Why he runs all the way over to his neighbor's house just to play, I don't know.
