Question about gardening skill challenge
« on: August 23, 2010, 12:43:51 AM »
Master Planter says you must plant one of every type of plant available. If you have World Adventures does that include all of those also? I think so I was just wondering if anyone knows. Thanks!

I believe it does mean that. In addition to the WA plants, there are cheese, steak, and patty plants as well as omni plants.

It means you must plant every type of plant in the Vanilla version of the game, including cheese, eggs, steaks and burgers as well as the omni plant.  You can replace say tomatoes with cherries if you want, but you must plant at least 19 different types of plants.  Here is the page in the guide that lists all the plants through WA, http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/skills/gardening/plant-list.php

OK so there are 19 vanilla plants to plant including eggs cheese steak and omni and all I would have to plant is those? Sorry to clarify but for my preplanning it is very important. I would not have to travel to complete that skill challenge? Thanks for the answers!

Does any one know if this is the same with the fishing challenge to catch all fish and the cooking challenge to learn all recipes?

You don't have to travel in order to complete the gardening (or fishing or cooking) challenges.  It does make it a lot easier though.   Basically, the challenge to plant "all" plants is now to plant 19 different plants.  Without traveling, that means getting the opportunities for eggs and cheese, then burger and steak, then omni plant in order to get 19.  With travel, you can just pick up some foreign plants and not have to worry about the skill opportunities.

The fishing and cooking challenges for "all" are the same, with fishing instead of having to catch the hardest fish in the home town, you can just catch some of the easy fish in a foreign location.  The Cooking challenge is made easier just by having the expansion, since you can learn the foreign recipes just by watching the cooking channel on TV or swapping recipes with a natural cook without ever having to travel, or if you have multiple sims one sim can travel, buy multiple copies of the foreign recipes and bring them back for the other sims to learn.
