My Sim Never Made it to University

My Sim will enroll in University, the University will take the money for tuition, they'll get their bags, and they'll get in the truck. The truck will take them to the edge of town, where they will promptly be kicked out of the truck and have their money refunded. Has this happened to anyone else?

It has never happened to me but I have an idea you can try. Once they get to the edge of the world and get kicked out, try re-enrolling them. It might be that something distracted them.
If that doesn't work try turning off free will then try enrolling them after they get kicked out.
