Question please about jobs and professions

Hi all,
I just switched households to check on my sim kids that I moved out to make sure everything was going well with their jobs and lives.  I have one sim that was employed in the investigator profession which is in law enforcement.  He didn't seem to be doing well in that and got a wish to join law enforcement career which I assumed meant police officer but when I go in map view to check out jobs for him or I have him check the computer nothing but professions come up not jobs.  I had him quit the investigator profession already and I thought he could just go to the police dept. and apply there but theres no option.  Another good job would have been the military but he can't apply there either for a job.

Would anyone know the reason why only certain professions are coming up and why he can't apply for any job like in business, culinary, law enforcement, military, etc.

Hmmm... I had this problem when my Sim didn't graduate (long story short, my teen came home early from boarding school for some reason and I aged him up via birthday cake). Did something similar happen to your Sim? Or it could just be a glitch with you Sim or the rabbit hole jobs. Can your other Sims get a job?

Also, if you are using cheats try using 'testingCheatsenabled true' and shift-clicking on the mailbox and choose the law enforcement career. Hope this helps!

Thanks for replying, actually I don't know whats going on because I haven't played that household in a while, I only switched over from my main active family that I play.  All I can say is that the other sims had no problem getting jobs, its just this sim.

I will try the cheats with the mailbox and see what happens with that.

Hi Darstan64.

When you click on the police station with that Sim, what exactly do you see?  Is the option to join the Law Enforcement career there and grayed out?  Or is it missing completely?  If it's grayed out, hover over it and see what it says.  Otherwise, I would say the first thing is to restart the game and see if it still happens.

Hi Pam,

When I click on the police station no option came up to join the law enforcement career.  It was missing but I did try what Gulliver the Cat! said to do, enable the cheats and then shift click on mailbox and then choose the law enforcement career.  I started him out at the beginning as a snitch, so that did work!
