World Packs Issue
« on: August 18, 2013, 02:32:56 AM »
This website has been so helpful to me in the past, hopefully it can help me here. I've already posted this question on the sims forums and still no answer.

So I'd say about two months ago, maybe three, I got Monte Vista for my PC on a disk. First I went through the process of installing it onto my laptop and came to the launcher that asked me to put in a code. Okay, I did that. It said it installed but I haven't seen a Monte Vista world at all ever since. Fine, whatever, no big deal. Little irritated here but I built a bridge and got over it.

Today I bought Hidden Springs and Dragon Valley, also on disks. I come in and I've gone through the whole installation problem with Hidden Springs. I'm at the launcher now and it wouldn't let me redeem the code. Now it's saying my installation has timed out AND that the code has already been redeemed.

Alright, so I've now just installed Dragon Valley. It went good, said it's installed and all that. Guess what. No Dragon Valley towns. At all.

Welcome to the forum! I'm not sure whether this is would work, but it's worth a shot. Open up the launcher for your game and go into the downloads tab. See if you can find your worlds. When and if you find them, click in the check boxes and click install at the bottom of the launcher window. Another window will open and you can watch the installation bar fill up. The worlds should then (In theory) install successfully.

Hope this helps!

Another idea is to open the download dashboard in game and see if they are registered as installed there. If not they should be at the top and you can click install.

Okay so I tried bubble's idea and nada. Just a few things I either made or got from the EA site.

Where can I get the dashboard?

When you are at the menu, after you start the game, lower left corner is the little circle with three dots, click on that and you should be able to see downloads dashboard.  This section has everything that you have downloaded, worlds, store items, etc.  Like saltpastillen said, the worlds should be at the top, since it is the newest item.  If it has the install button, click it and you might have to wait a bit.  Mine sometimes gets hung up when it says it is 100% installed, but just go back out of it and then go back in.  Hope this helps. :)

Thanks, I'll try that. I also kept seeing people mention that I should clear my cache. I found an article on this site about that and I tried it. I hope it worked. If not, I'll try looking in the dashboard. Thanks you two!
