Queen Anne's Gardens

The focal point of this sprawling farmhouse, built to model Queen Anne stylings, are the meandering flower beds that dot the landscape, as well as the massive outdoor areas. But don't let the amazing exterior distract you from inside! With a recently renovated kitchen, master suite, and a rumpus room above the new addition, this house is perfect for a growing family with a love of the outdoors!

Lot Size: 60x60
Bedrooms: 4
Bathrooms: 3.5
Cost: $180.935
Unfurnished: $112.223

The facade and front lawn

Back yard! Now with twice the garden action

A peek of the kitchen.

Datails for the master suite.

Store Content Used:
June 2011 Compilation
Luxury Lounge Spa
Earth Day (Free!)
Edwardian Expressions
Hacienda Luxury
Lullabies and Nursery Rhymes
Mediterranean Villa
Loads of Laundry
Full Regal Living

You can see more images in the album here.
The pictures show the original house. Because that cost over 300K and used over twice the store content, I have slimmed it down a considerable amount for this upload, while still striving to keep the feel of the house. The gardens remain untouched. If you'd like the original, please, let me know. Two of the upstairs bedrooms, as well as the jack-and-jill bath connecting them, have been left unfinished.

I'll blame my nephews for distracting me from actually adding the attachment.

Very lovely build.  My only complaint is it is difficult to really see how fabulous each shot is with all those small pictures within pictures to distract the eye.  I'm a big fan of big porches and well done landscaping so you get a big thumbs up on this one!  Well done!

EDIT:  Just went and looked at your online pics.  Please post some here so others can see.  I think in general we are kind of lazy and don't want to go elsewhere to see pictures so you aren't getting the comments you deserve.  This is a terrific build!

Having said that, I must say I am even more impressed with this build than before.  I think "farmhouse" is a misnomer for this building.  More like, "manor house" to my way of thinking.  Very classy, elegant, well laid out and well appointed.  I like the use of space and the blend of colors that flowed into one another with no clashes.  Your choice of furnishings was great also.  I always look at a build as in, "would I want to live here in real life", and this one is at the top of a long list.  I couldn't help but smile just imagining myself going from room to room in my house.  So warm and welcoming, but then, even better, I get to step outside for a dip in the pool while taking in the colors and scents of the gardens.  Love it.
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

Thank you so much Joria. Your words brought a smile to my face. I was hesitant to post a ton of pictures because I didn't want to glut the post with the images, though you may be right about the overall laziness of people in general! I, myself, seldom follow external links unless I'm extremely curious.

I did call it a farmhouse mainly because the floorplan is very similar to a typical "Farmhouse" floor plan. The term "manor house" evokes imagery of ornate, curving staircases in the grand vestibule, soaring ceilings, and crystal chandeliers. But I did want to keep away from the 'country kitsch' of your stereotypical farmhouse, so I can see where you're coming from - and greatly appreciate your words!

So, here are some of my favorite shots that I took. More are in the album, linked in the original post. Once again, these pictures show the house in its original form. The linked version above has some of the extras pulled out to lessen the cost, or replaced with game-default items to reduce the number of store items.

What a great trick to layer the curtains like you did in the last shot - I'm going to have to steal that idea!

Thank you, and feel free to! Personally, I stole it aaaaages ago from a house I found on the exchange. It's especially helpful when your "inner" curtains don't entirely cover the window - sides or top.

Wow, what a lovely house.  I really like the warm colours and how you decorated it, well done.   ;)

Roguebait can u please tell me what programme you use to do all your screenshots, because I like when I click on the image it expands.

What a lovely house. I have to agree, that's a smart idea to layer the curtains. I love looking at how other people decorate their houses because that's where I have the most difficulty.

I know I'm not Roguebait, but I can answer this for you.

In among the tools when you're posting, you will see under the B I U S buttons, 4 little buttons. The first is Insert Image. The Second is Insert Highslide thumbnail. That's the one you want to use. The instructions on how to use it is here.

As for the house on this thread, it's absolutely beautifu, Roguebait. And I also love the way you've layered the curtains. I've done that before in some of my builds, but not those particular two curtains. They look great together and I love the colours. Well done! :D

Thank you all, again, for the comments. What a nice way to start my morning!  ;D

@Goslett: Neashaleigh is absolutely correct with her description; I did use the highslide thumbnails on this thread.
