Spar tournament question
« on: August 13, 2010, 02:16:01 PM »
OK, My Sim has reached Grand Master rank of the Spar tournament and is now at level 5 after 20 wins. My question is, after this, there is still the option of calling in a Sim for a Spar tournament. My Sim won her 21st victory.

So is level 5 the highest level to achieve here? What if you win 50 or 100 Spar matches? Will my Sim be promoted to level 6? Then what is the use of winning more than 20 times in this tournament? Will I be just wasting my time engaging in other Sims in this tournament after reaching level 5?

Thanks!

Hi Branchflower. The Tournament ends when you attain Grand Master title (level 5/20 wins) and your level will not rise any more. But, there's an additional Martial Arts Challenge — can't remember the name — but you need to spar a ton of times to attain that one.

EDIT: Ah, the all-powerful Guide to the rescue...Sim Fu King (75 matches).

Thanks for the clarification. But when you achieve the Sim Fu King challenge as well as the Grandmaster title, and if you continue to spar for maybe 100 or 200 times more, the likelihood of you losing a sparing contest would be virtually zero, right?

It is because in the guitar challenge, the more number of performances you achieve, the larger the tip would be and this would increase exponentially. So applying this same principal, if two sims have mastered the martial arts skill as well as completing ALL the martial arts challenges and if they were to spar against each other, the one with the higher number of spars even if the margin is by 5 or 1, would still win in the spar contest, right? Has anyone tested this before? Play two Sims and make then master the martial arts and athletics challenges and spar against each other?

Of course, an in dept study is needed here, the same that was done to the guitar challenge.

Thanks!

 :)

Oops. Sorry I misspelled your forum name, Blanchflower. Yeah, I've never pursued the Sim Fu King challenge. That's a really time consuming one. You may be right in comparing it to guitar — the more compositions you play, the higher the tips: the more sparring matches you have, the less chance of losing. It would certainly make sense to me.
