Sims 3 families..are they random?
« on: July 21, 2013, 05:18:18 PM »
Well, something has been in the back of my mind! Are the families in The Sims 3 random or planned/set? I'm playing the Pets version. Yay kitties and puppies <3 (Pardon me a moment, my cat has just got herself stuck behind the TV unit, speaking of kitties :/ ).
Like, after the first lot of families (Gattus, Wolff, Xu, Branson, etc) does the game create random sims and pets to move into those houses when those families move on? I've had the Manning/Maddox family (Burton, Malissa, Kurtis...), the Wong (Jared, Shelia) family..uummm who else? Gann (Merideth..can't remember any other Ganns)..well you get the idea anyway, I'm drawing a mental blank LOL. I'll have to play and find out (I'm on my second go with my family after that horrid glitch). Also, are the children for the original families set too? For example, in my first game Marcel Gattus had a daughter, Ashleigh and in the game I'm playing now he only has a dog (well had. Poor Austin passed away). But Marcel is still only an adult, there's still time :)
Also (again)..Malissa had a yo-yo diet thing going on. Sometimes she'd turn up to my sims' house chubby and other times she'd be like a twig. Why is this?
Pardon me if this post is all over the place. I've just had a coffee so..I'm all over the place, therefore... :p

Yes, the game will move in new families once the old ones die out. That way your Sims still have people to talk to even when the original townies die off.

Some families will start with children, and they'll be there no matter what. However, children can be born after the game begins, and that is more or less random.
