A big congratulations to Gulliver-the-Cat. I absolutely adored the interior of your lot. The exterior was good as well. Very quirky and different. But the interior took my breath away, and when I saw it, I knew I could never top that. A well deserved win.

@Intl_Incident - Can I just say congrats on coming 2nd. I loved the exterior of your build so much! It really looks like a well oiled machine :D

@ Lady_bug - I loved how your build was so quirky! Those big claws coming out the top looked fun and a little scary at the same time lol (in a good way). I also loved how you used a lot of metal patterns and colours. I could almost smell the rust! Great job :D

@ Swirl_Girl - Your build was also delightfully quirky and I really loved your use of patterns. The bedroom was great! I have no idea what it is coming out of the left bedside table, but it looks really fun!

@Snufflesxx - I really liked how your build looked like a run-down shed or small warehouse. Was that what you were aiming for? It's definitely an Inventor's Dream home. And I loved the sasquach (?) hiding behind the crates ;)

I'm open to feedback on my build too! :D

I also forgot about this! Haha.

For any steampunk enthusiasts, I actually based my house heavily off the most recent 'steampunk' game I played, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. Not very classic steampunk, I realized, but still super enjoyable to build.

Congratulations to everyone who took a shot at this challenge, it definitely was hard! The key for steampunk is realizing the era in which is was inspired, that is, 1900's almost Victorian era, to those who are looking into steampunk. I really loved the classic decor and wish I fell back on those roots more.

I'm open for comments, though it's a little late for that boat!

@Neasha; beautiful exterior as usual, always takes my breath away what someone can do with Sims. I love how there's almost a slight country feel to it (might be the water tower) but definitely very homey, other than the more ... fantasy feel I get from most steampunk structures. The interior is lovely as well.

@swirlgirl; awesome concept! That was a super neat idea to go by. As a suggestion, using design tools is always really helpful, especially with the rugs! For this particular challenge, Steampunk tends to be more rustic in colours. Some of your decor choices are absolutely stunning, I love all the touches and statues you added to increase your ambiance. Great job again!

@ladybug; the roof of your house was awesome. I loved it! The interior was super cute and is really lovely. I would love to see more blue incorporated next time!

@Jaaaaks - Oh my Gosh, somebody else tried to base theirs on Layton? Well, my final one wasn't, but my original idea was based on the tower from the first Layton game, Professor Layton and the Curious Village:

I agree that those games are a haven for wacky building designs, even if they're not steampunk in the classic sense, like you said. Okay, Layton babble is finished!

About the build - I really like the interior, especially the kitchen. I think the second floor seemed a little dark and cramped but perhaps that's just with the lighting when you took your screenshots. Unless that was a look you were particularly going for, I think you should have added some more lights, or even just some wall light area squares from debug buy. Actually, the little inventing room on the second floor is fine.
I liked the crazy bits of... house that were sticking out everywhere and the random mix of wall covers. Overall, you did a really good job  ;)
